Hola,

I just thought I would give out a couple of my materials that were used in the renders above that I made for c4d. I've had a lot of people ask me how I do the colors on my shapes, so since I don't have a lot of time to do a tutorial, I'll just give a couple of them out so anyone who wants to dissect it can see how it's made.

Lighting is key to any scene as with this type of material, and a little tip is to add some objects such as planes/cubes that are outside the view and give them a luminance material so you get nice reflections on the shapes in the view.

Also if you want blurred or slightly blurred reflections, bump up the dispersion to whatever you want in the reflections channel( in these images I used 2, but the render times go up dramatically the higher number you use).


One last note, if you want to change the colors go to the color channel and click on fresnel and mess with the gradient. ;)

First render pack from myself, there is a small readme file in the download, but if you don't understand it i'm sorry (I wrote it at 2.00AM)

There are 7 renders to use in here, all PSDs with the render being on one layer and a background colour on a seperate layer. All have materials on it.

You are not required to credit me for the use of these renders but it would be much appreciated as would :+favs: is you use them. Also, send me the link to your final piece if you use them :)

They are in .png format - you do not need to remove any background!

Please note - they are NOT perfect renders! They were intended to be used by me at some point in artworks and completely repainted, so there are some poke through issues with skin/toes etc. These can be easily fixed even if you do not paint - please read the "readme" file included in the .zip

I've decided since I haven't gotten around the art works these were intended for I would offer them up to you guys =) I hope you can use some of them and find them a nice home in your artworks.

2 USE -----

1) Make sure you have photoshop 7+
2) Favorite the file
3) Download the Deviation & Possibly rename the file to whatever you want *NOTE - REMEMBER THE NAME*
4) Place file in this directory OR equivalent - X:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Presets\Brushes\
5) Open photoshop
6) Select the brush tool
7) Make sure the brush palette is open otherwise go to (Photoshop Menu) Window -> Brushes
8) Find the area in the window where you can select different brush packs.

If your brushes palette is located in the palette well the arrow is right next to the "brushes" text once the tab is
clicked.

If your brushes palette is a standalone window or is floating then the arrow is located on the far right of the
window below the 'X' close button.

9) Select the brush pack 01, or whatever you renamed them to *NOTE - THIS IS WHY IT WAS IMPORTANT*
10) You have 2 options, you can append the brushes to whatever brushes you have currently in your brush
palette, or you can entirely replace the brushes.

11) Once loaded, pick a color and select a layer and start brushing.
12) Have fun & Enjoy them

Sizes- all are 1500x1500 or larger, about 70 megs unzipped, 9 megs zipped all are targa.

Here's the updated pack for my renders. I actually took all the original TIFF files and reformatted them to PNG files for easy copy and pasting into your work. I even added a couple bonus renders for you guys.

If you do use these, please don't rip, and try to pass them off as your own. Be honest and credit me for the render in the description for your submission. Also please send me a message and let me know that you used one so I can add your submission to my collection!

The images have all be shot in b&w and depict cracked paint in various stages of decay on a wooden surface. All nicely lit and well detailed.

In other words, I DON'T want to see these on sxc.hu or istockphoto, for example in ANY way shape or form. In ALL cases credit MUST be given to the provider (yes... that means me).

Now that I've pulled my finger out of your bum, you may go away and enjoy these :)
